Locks of Love : An Expression of Romance in Lago di Como, Italy
On a long picturesque bridge in Lago di Como, Italy, the somewhat rusty bars making up the railings are more unique than originally meets the eye. If you look closely enough, you will see that attached to the bars are locks, usually with names, initials, or phrases written or engraved on them. These locks are meant to symbolize the love that two people share for a lifetime. One or both of the people in the relationship secure the lock to the bar and throw away the key, ensuring that their love may never die.
